Man Alone - Black_edited.png

The legend of the Lost Brothers begins in 1970 with the closed adoption of a baby boy due to an unplanned teen pregnancy—the lost brother. Going to a loving couple who were not able to have a child of their own, he was home.

For now.

Because of the closed adoption, he knew nothing of his birth parents and therefore knew nothing of any predisposition he might have to any health issues he might’ve passed to his own children. In 2017 he took a DNA test to find out and was floored by the results. Included with the medical results was a list of blood relatives, marking the first time he’d ever seen the last names of people related to him.

His first successful find was his birth mother. Unfortunately, she had passed away 20 years prior and bore no other children, leaving him with one option: locate his birth father. He was five months into his search, had just uncovered the  information about his mother, and Hurricane Irma was barreling directly towards his home in Puerto Rico. The paternal pursuit was going to have to wait.

After more than a week with no power and the island being totally shut down, the lost brother found himself waiting at the airport with his family for a scheduled flight back to the States and decided to give his research another look with fresh eyes, having not looked at any of it since before the hurricane. At this point he knew his birth mother’s age and where she was living at the time of his birth. He examined the family tree and instantly noticed someone that was around his mother’s age and was living in the same area at the same time. He found a picture of the man and couldn’t help but feel he had seen his eyes before.  He showed the picture to his wife and kids who exclaimed in unison: “DUDE THAT’S YOUR DAD!”. As if the excitement from the picture wasn’t enough, this mystery man also had SIX other children. SIX potential brothers and sisters.

THIS NEW KNOWLEDGE BROUGHT IMMEDIATE EXCITEMENT, THOUGH QUICKLY OVERPOWERED BY UNCERTAINTY AND DOUBT. IF HE REACHED OUT, WOULD HE BE WELCOMED? WOULD HE BE AN INTERRUPTION? DID THEY KNOW HE EXISTED? HIS QUESTIONS WERE ANSWERED WHEN HE CAME ACROSS A FACEBOOK POST MADE SIX MONTHS BEFORE BY ONE OF THE WOMEN HE'D INDENTIFIED AS HIS SISTER: "Do I know anyone that could help me find a family member who was adopted or who could at least point me in the right direction? We have dug around for years trying to find all we can…But the info we have on him is just so limited. I am determined though. I won’t give up”. HE COULDN'T BELIEVE IT. 47 YEARS OF NOT KNOWING AND SIX MONTHS OF RESEARCH REWARDED BY THE DISCOVERY OF HIS LONG LOST SIBLINGS SEARCHING FOR HIM AS WELL. AFTER TWO DAYS OF PROCESSING AND DELIBERATION, HE REACHED OUT.

the Lost Brother WAS finally home in a way he never had BEEN before. HIS RECEPTION COULDN'T HAVE BEEN WARMER. HE FIT LIKE A GLOVE. hE GAINED A FATHER, FOUR LITTLE BROTHERS, TWO LITTLE SISTERS, IN-LAWS, AND MANY NIECES AND NEPHEWS. IN December of 2020, HE AND HIS BROTHERS decided to FURTHER THEIR NEW RELATIONSHIP AND go into business together. THEY PARTNERED with a longtime family friend and a few of his childhood best friends (his own lost brothers, if you will) who had been learning the ways out west, as well as the guys that were teaching them, aiming to grow the finest cannabis Oklahoma has ever seen—and Lost Brothers Cannabis was born.

“To say it has been fantastic would be an understatement. It is like we have always been together. An instant level of comfort you can only get from family…FROM YOUR PEOPLE.”
